Aldi plan to open £14m Glasgow store on Maryhill Road - here's everything we know
The new Aldi store on Maryhill Road is set to bring a £14m investment to the area
A consultation has been launched to open a new Aldi store in Maryhill. The new £14 million store would be a significant investment into land that has been vacant for a few years now.
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “Award-winning discount food retailer Aldi is bringing forward proposals for a new, modern food store on Maryhill Road, Glasgow.
“Aldi deeply values community involvement when proposing new stores. As part of our commitment to community engagement, we are hosting a public consultation to enable members of the local community to view and comment on our proposals for a new store on Maryhill Road.”
Full details of Aldi’s proposals, including the opportunity to submit feedback, will be available on the Aldi Maryhill Road website from 12 November.

Where will it be located?
The new store is set to be located on Maryhill Road at the junction with Hopehill Road. Rival supermarket, Lidl, operates across the road from the site.
What did the site used to be?
The site was formerly Looker’s used Jaguar-Land Rover car dealership, however this appears to have closed sometime around 2024. It has been vacant in the time since.
When is the consultation?
Members of the public are invited to attend our drop-in public consultation event which will take place on Thursday 12th November, from 3pm to 7pm, Woodside Halls (36 Glenfarg Street, Glasgow, G20 7QE)
