The SNP leader made the announcement this afternoon following the result of the Scottish independence referendum which saw 45% of the population vote in favour with 55% against.
The MSP for Aberdeenshire East told reporters: “For me as leader my time is nearly over but for Scotland the campaign continues and the dream shall never die.”
