All- clear given to merger

The Scottish Government has given its final go-ahead for the merger of Cumbernauld and Abronhill High Schools.

North Lanarkshire Council has confirmed that by August it will have made several improvements to bus stances near Cumbernauld High School, thereby fulfilling the final outstanding requirement imposed by the Government in June when it was granted conditional approval for the plan. The next school year will see the creation of Cumbernauld Academy, which will occupy the present Cumbernauld High School until a new campus is created.
