Anita Bennie will skydive for late pal Ann Graham

JUMPING 20,000 feet out of an aeroplane is not everybody’s idea of a good time...but it’s ‘plane’ to see why Carluke’s Anita Bennie is doing it on Saturday, July 12.

Anita (45), of Unitas Crescent, will perform the daredevil stunt in Strathallan to raise money for Maggie’s Centre in memory of her best pal Ann Graham, who died of cancer in 2010.

“Doing a skydive is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Anita.

“My husband Gary says I’m crazy for wanting to do it.

“But I think it is a great way for me to honour Ann.

“I definitely won’t be eating a big meal before the skydive, but I think I’ll be having a lager after it.”

Anita’s latest bid to raise charity cash will also feature a fun day in Carluke’s Moor Park from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, July 26, before a disco, raffle and auction from 7pm in Castlehill Bowling Club. Call her on 07738 688709 to donate or for more information.
