Appeal after serious road traffic collision

Police Scotland officers are appealing for information following a serious two-car road traffic collision in Shields Road on Monday, August 27.

At around 1.15 pm a black Suzuki Splash, being driven by an 85-year-old man, and a black Jaguar XF, being driven by a 35-year-old man, were in collision in the vicinity of the car dealership near the junction of Shields Road and St Andrews Drive.

The 85-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with head and spinal injuries, where his condition is described by hospital staff as ‘serious but stable’.

The 35-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to an arm injury and released.

Constable David Nicol is appealing for anyone who was in the area of Shields Road and St Andrews Drive around the time and who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with Police Scotland via 101 - quoting reference 1667 of 27/8/2018.
