Appeal to reunite dog with owner

An appeal has been launched to help reunite a dog with its owner.

The black labrador cross pooch was rescued from a busy road in the Hillhead area of Kirkintilloch on Friday morning.

Local resident Suzanne Malcolm and her friend John Docherty have been desperately trying to trace its owner.

John told the Herald: “The dog was running about the middle of the road and was in danger of getting knocked down.

“A lady Suzanne knows rescued it. He’s a very friendly dog and has obviously been well looked after. He also had a collar on when he was found.

“The lady can only kee him for a couple more days and we are hoping someone will recognise it before then.”

Suzanne added: “Police have been informed but we just can’t find his owner. My friend lives in Harestanes and the dog can be picked up from there.”

Anyone who can help should call Suzanne on 0771 772 9779.
