Backing gran by raising money for Cancer Research

Kristi, Ellis Burnside (14), Hannah Mitchell (14) and Courtney Meikle (15), from Coalburn, and Jennifer Dyet (14) from Lesmahagow, organised a Wear Pink day at Lesmahagow High and raised £346. Jennifer made a further £350 last Thursday, busking with her saxophone at Tesco while the others collected donations. On Sunday, all five took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life in Glasgow, and they expect to have raised around £1800.
