Balmaha's Braw Weekend is back by popular demand

After the success of last year's Balmaha's Braw Weekend the event is back on October 1st and 2nd and the organisers hope it will be even bigger and better this year.

Once again the festival, organised by The Oak Tree Inn, will be held on the banks of Loch Lomond and sponsored by Glengoyne Distillery, with support from EventScotland and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.

Last year 5,000 people attended the first event and this year Balmaha’s Braw Weekend is set to welcome more for a festival of food, drink, live music and entertainment.

From 11am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, October 1st and 2nd Balmaha’s Braw Weekend will feature family fun with cooking demonstrations, food and drink producers, a craft fair, children’s entertainment, live music plus fairground rides and attractions. Once again entry will be free, with plenty of free parking.

On Saturday night music acts including Have Mercy Las Vegas and Dave Arcari will be playing live in a huge marquee with £5 entry. There will be some amazing Scottish food served all weekend, plus a licensed bar.

Stuart Fraser from The Oak Tree Inn, said: “Very soon into last year’s Balmaha’s Braw Weekend we knew that this wasn’t going to be a one off event.

“We had a brilliant reaction and there was an amazing atmosphere all weekend.

“This year we’ve arranged more under cover areas just in case the weather isn’t kind to us, although last year the event enjoyed the best spell of weather of the year!”

Paul Bush OBE, Director of Events at VisitScotland, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Balhama’s Braw Weekend again this year.

“Scotland is the perfect stage for events and the festival is a great boost to the region, giving visitors the chance to enjoy food, drink, music and family entertainment within the spectacular surroundings of Loch Lomond.”
