They will play at premier Dublin venue Grand Social in front of an audience of U2 fans from all over the world.

The first gig, on Saturday, September 24, is already sold out with only a few tickets remaining for the second the following night.

There is speculation that U2’s forthcoming album, ‘Songs of Experience’, will be released on their 40th anniversary.

Scott Pattison, a guitarist with December, said: “It’s an honour to be invited to play at this. We wouldn’t be songwriters or musicians at all but for U2.

“Dublin has a special place in our hearts because of their legacy and the great welcome we received there recently. We are looking forward to going back and meeting fellow U2 fans and musicians from all over the world.”

December’s single ‘Alison Stewart’, released last November, is still available, with all proceeds going to Chernobyl Children International, a charity dear to U2 and Bono’s wife who serves on the board. The video for the track can be viewed at https://youtu.be/6gDz-VWc4nM

December released their album ‘I Will Let You Have Your Say’ in May this year and will be playing The Glad Café in Shawlands, Glasgow, on Saturday, September 10, before heading to Dublin.

The line up is: Scott Pattison, guitars; Paul Ferrie, guitars and harmonica; Stephen Walker, guitars; Grant McGregor, bass; Kenny McBride/Graeme Sparshott, drums; Ails Pattison, lead vocals.
