Barbecue season for Shul in the Park
Members of East Renfrewshire’s Jewish community gathered together to celebrate Lag B Omer recently with a festive barbecue.
Hosts David and Deborah Clapham welcomed 70 guests into their home to mark the 33rd day of the Counting of the Omer, which includes the well-known custom of lighting a bonfire — in this case, making the most of the sunshine and serving up food.
Rabbi Mendel Jacobs, minister and Lubavitch outreach director, thanked the Claphams for opening up their home for the Shul in the Park event by presenting them with a Havdalah set.
