Feared downpours never materialised as Holly, a P7 pupil at Biggar Primary School, was crowned on stage by 1948 Fleming Queen Nan Agnew.

Holly told the Gazette: “It was a great experience; I really enjoyed the whole day.”

The impressive gala day procession, led by Peebles Burgh Silver Band, provided fun, laughter and entertainment for all the family.
