Mrs Soutar was joined in one of two birthday celebrations by East Ren provost Alastair Carmichael, lord lieutenant Guy Clark and family from as far away as the United States.
There, at a get-together run by Age Concern, the provost congratulated Ann with a bouquet of flowers.

Days later, she was joined by staff and residents at the Montgomerie Court sheltered complex — where she has lived since 1991 as the facility’s first ever resident — in toasting the milestone year.
Eaglesham native Mrs Soutar was born on October 31, 1914, and has two daughters — one living in Maine, USA, and the other in Ayrshire — as well as two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of Eaglesham Bowling Club for many years, sang in the Glasgow Lynn Choir and was also involved in her local church guild.
East Renfrewshire Council is urging those celebrating similar milestones to get in touch with the lord lieutenant to mark the occasion.

A spokeswoman said: “Arrangements can also be made for couples reaching their diamond wedding anniversary (60 years), blue sapphire (65), platinum (70) and every subsequent anniversary to receive a royal telegram.”
