Queen Erin was crowned by the retiring Queen Robyn Edwards in Lochanbank Park as her family and friends looked on.

Earlier in the morning the gala procession, which wended its way through the streets, saw cheering crowds line up to see a cast of clowns and Wizard of Oz and Back to the Future characters make their way from Blackwood Primary to Lochanbank Park.

Gala day was the culmination of a week of events within the village.

The football tournament, disco and sports night were all very well attended, with the good weather making a big difference.
