Body found in search for missing Lenzie man Stephen Watt
A body recovered from Bothlin Burn on the outskirts of Kirkintilloch yesterday afternoon is believed to be that of missing man Stephen Watt.
Police said this morning formal identification has still to be carried but it is almost certain to be that of the 66-year-old retired lecturer who disappeared from his home in Craigenbay Crescent in Lenzie on Sunday, December 28.
A police spokeswoman said: “There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“Relatives are aware and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
