Book festival for Cumbernauld Centre
The team behind Edinburgh International Book Festival will spend from Friday May 19 to Sunday May 21 in the mall, orchestrating the community event dubbed ReimagiNation Cumbernauld.
Organisations like Cumbernauld Action Care for the Elderly, plus the four primary schools in Kildrum, Carbrain and Ravenswood will be involved in key projects at the festival.

Hide AdCACE members will be working with a historian Daniel Gray and writer Mike Nicholson will be involved with the schools initiative.
North Lanarkshire Council’s Culture NL organisation will support the event but the funding is being provided by the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Edinburgh International Book Festival’s Children & Education Programme Director Janet Smyth said: “We will be working hard to celebrate the human stories amidst the bricks and mortar, looking forward to the future of the town as well as exploring the ideas and circumstances which led to its establishment.
“Over the festival weekend, we’ll present a packed programme celebrating reading, stories and creativity with some of the best writers and performers around.
