Book launched to help Carluke teen Andrew McNaughton

THE stepdad of disabled Carluke teenager Andrew McNaughton will launch a new book this week in a bid to raise cash to send the youngster to a specialist college.

Nick Wilford, of Shieldhill Court, has brought together an anthology of almost 70 short stories with the common theme of Overcoming Adversity.

It is certainly an apt title as Nick, wife Heather and the rest of the family attempt to raise the £100,000 needed to send Andrew (18) to the specialist Beaumont College in Lancaster.

Nick said: “The theme of overcoming adversity is great as it’s exactly what Andrew has had to do all his life.”

Nick’s book launch will take place on Saturday, March 16, at 2pm in Carluke Library.
