Brave Cumbernauld Cops stop blaze

A chip pan fire which threatened to spread through a family home was stopped after brave Cumbernauld cops fought off the flames.

Police constables Jason Henry and Paul James were first to respond to the emergency call from the distraught householder at around 8.25pm on Wednesday, June 5.

The incident happened in the Maple area of Abronhill, and the woman and her three children stayed in the backgarden throughout the duration of the fire while officers put it out using several damp towels.
