Contractor Taymore has been commissioned to remove the bridge,
with work due to start on Tuesday, May 3.

The bridge was
installed in 2010 with funding from the
Forestry Commission, as part of a woodland improvement project in the Glen.

A council spokesperson said: “The bridge has been repeatedly vandalised.

“The council has
carried out a number of repairs, including replacing parts of the wooden deck with metal.

“Access to the Glen will be maintained via the smaller bridge at Bridgend Place.

“The council will investigate the possibility of replacing the bridge at a
future date.”
