Bus firm calls on arty kids to get on board

Nursery schools in the north of Glasgow are being invited to get arty and win a free coach for the day.

Local bus firm Fairline Coaches is staging a children’s arts competition this week in a show of community support.

The prize for the winning drawing will be the use of one of the company’s coaches for a day out.

Liz Logan, general manager at the firm said: “We feel it’s increasingly important for local companies such as ourselves to support the community and its people.

“We understand it can be difficult and expensive for nursery schools to take all the children on trips away and thought this would be a good and hassle-free way for the nursery to organise a day out.

“If it’s successful we may consider making it an annual competition.”

To enter the competition the children are being asked to draw a picture of a Fairline coach, with the winner will be chosen by the Fairline team.

Liz said: “We have two simple rules for the competition, have fun and use your imagination.”

Springburn Councillor
Allan Stewart added: “This is a terrific initiative and clearly demonstrates a great sense of community spirit.

“It’s also an excellent way for local children to visit one of the many free attractions Glasgow has to offer. I would strongly encourage nurseries in the area to get involved.”
