Cake co. wins ethnic achievement award

Noreen Ahmed’s Eats by Heavenly Treats —situated on Pollokshaws Road — was awarded the accolade at a ceremony at the Thistle hotel in the city centre last month.

The event recognises significant contributions to civic, political and business life by the black, Asian and minority communities.

Noreen’s husband Rizwan told The Extra: “It was an honour to be part of such an event.

“The café has become very popular amongst both Scottish and Asian customers alike.

“The customers are a diverse cultural mix, and they all come to enjoy Noreen’s home cooking, and sometimes just pop in for a cup of tea or a chat.”
