Calderwood Lodge pupils spread new year cheer
Pupils from Calderwood Lodge Primary have been spreading new year greetings, handing in homemade Rosh Hashanah cards to the residents of Westacres Care Home.
Class six visited the Newton Mearns care home on Tuesday, ahead of the Jewish new year celebrations (September 24-26).
Clare Rooney, activities coordinator and volunteer manager at Westacres, told The Extra: “The residents very much enjoyed the songs the children sang, as well as appreciating the beautiful cards they made.
“We also enjoyed the children sharing their preparation stories for the new year.”
