Calendar girls and boys win arts contest

Creative kids will have their artwork featured on walls across East Renfrewshire after winning the council’s road safety calendar 2015 competition.

Twelve pupils from local primary schools each have a drawing on a page of the calendar.

They were chosen out of more than 1,000 entries. Provost, Alastair Carmichael, distributing the prizes. Kirkhill Primary were the overall winners, and received the Rowan Quaich for being the best-performing school in the contest. The provost said: “What wonderfully creative and talented youngsters we have in our schools.
