Calls to save Braehead Village Day

THIS year’s Braehead Village Day has been plunged into doubt as the organising committee has officially disbanded.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as a ‘newco’ has been formed to try to promote events in the village.

Village Day Committee secretary Liz Peacock explained: “A meeting had been called on Monday to try to save the Village Day but because the committee’s constitution stated that we had to have at least six members to be able to make decisions we agreed to disband it.

“To try to retain community spirit we decided to form Braehead Village Group.”

A meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at 7.30pm in The Last Shift Inn. It is “vital” the community supports it.
