Can you help police with their enquiries into a serious assault in Glasgow city centre?

The police have released images of two men that they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries following a serious assault on Jamaica Street in Glasgow City Centre.

The incident occurred at about 10.40pm on Saturday, February 7 this year when a 50 year-old man was assaulted and sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Police officers are keen to speak to the men shown in the images as they believe that they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first male is described as white, aged 40 – 50 years, of slim build, bald, wearing a blue shirt, a light coloured blazer and dark trousers.

The second male is described as white, aged 40-50 years old, of heavy build, with short dark hair, wearing a dark overcoat over a dark shirt, dark trousers and brown shoes.

Detective Constable Gordon Walker, Greater Glasgow CID who is dealing with this enquiry said: “An unprovoked assault like this on a busy Saturday night in the city centre cannot be tolerated and we seek the assistance of the public in tracking down those responsible.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Glasgow Police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously.”
