CARLUKE woman Margaret Hamilton is a dark horse – and now she even has an award to prove it.

Margaret’s life is dedicated to two causes: the Guides and knitting.

And she has just received an award from the Trefoil Guild, the “senior” branch of Guiding, for her knitting.

Margaret has been involved with Guiding from her own days as a Brownie, and she has been a member of the Trefoil Guild for many years, taking time out to run a Guide company and then returning to the Guild.

She is currently president of the Carluke Guild.

“My life is dedicated to Guiding,” she said.

She has also been involved with charities; she worked with Action Medical Research and Carluke’s Kind Hearts and she is always the first to get the knitting needles out to help.
