Carluke nursery goes wild for Mother’s Day

PEOPLE driving out of Carluke down the Horsley Brae were greeted by a giant gorilla this week.

But there was no need to panic – the beast, holding a Happy Mother’s Day sign, was simply a tongue-in-cheek joke by the staff of Reynard Nursery. Gazette reader Gail Campbell alerted us to the gorilla.

Nursery owner Andrew Scott said: “We had the idea of using it for Mother’s Day because of the obvious jokes about mothers-in-law.”
