Carluke sees Ham and Jam show fun tonight

Carluke’s big annual long weekend of fun, food and festivities, is well underway.

Today, Friday, the youngsters have starred in their concerts - photo shows the town’s primary schools choirs rehearsaing for their own Music From The Movies concert which was this afternoon.

Tonight there’s live music in the Lifestyles Centre and from the Shine Theatre group in Kirkton Church.

There will be a Carluke ‘take’ on the telly hit X-Factor on Friday night from 7pm to 10pm at the Street Level youth club.

On the Friday and Saturday nights local musicians will be taking entertainment to weekend revellers by touring the town’s pubs.

The highlght of the festival will be the Saturday ‘Jamboree’, a variety of entertainments and events between noon and 4pm centred around Ramsay’s Courtyard off Stewart Street and in the St Athanasius Hall and its car park.

This will include a jeely-making `Jampionsips’ and a Great Carluke Bake-off competition, various food-tastings, a Ramsay’s barbecue, covered market stalls and a big marquee staging various entertainments.

At the Courtyard Lounge off Kirkton Street that night the 2015 celebrations will be rounded off with a big licensed musical gig.

It’s time for the town to get jamming!

Main sponsors for the three days of the Ham and Jam Festival, organised by Carluke Development Trust, are near-neighbour businesses Scott’s (Jam) and Ramsay’s (Ham).
