Carnwath Torchlight Procession and Bonfire Slideshow

A HEALTHY crowd gathered in Carnwath on Hogmanay Night as the annual torchlight procession and bonfire took place.

Now in its 15th year, the celebrations began at the turn of the Millennium and have carried on at every Hogmanay since.

This year the village’s Gala Queen, Anna Boertien, had the honour of lighting the bonfire along with long-time Carnwath resident Willie Shearer before a fireworks display brought the evening to a close.

Earlier in the night, the torchlight procession, led by a lone piper, was another event to remember with scores of people lining the streets as the parade made its way through the streets.
