Cars torched in deliberate act of fireraising

Police Scotland are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after three vehicles were set on fire in Eaglesham on Wednesday, October 7.

About 9.15pm officers received a report of a fire in Cheapside Street in Eaglesham. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished, however three vehicles parked within a driveway had been damaged. The vehicles involved were a Citroen Berlingo, an Audi A3 and a Citroen C4.

No one was injured as a result of the incident however three properties had to be evacuated for a short time as a precaution.

Detective Constable Craig Faskin of Giffnock Police Office is appealing for information. He said: “Enquiries are continuing today in relation to this incident which is being treated as wilful fireraising.

“Officers are currently checking CCTV footage in and around the local area in an effort to gather more information on who is responsible for this crime.
