The Upper Nithsdale Pipe Band led the procession from the community centre before the crowning ceremony with some terrific costumes on show.

Gala secretary Nanette Melvin told the Gazette that this year’s procession was the best ever.

Following the crowning ceremony, there was some entertainment provided by Jimmy Mac. However, due to a rather large shower of heavy rain, Jimmy was forced to cut short his set.

Freelance photographer Alan Watson was on hand to capture all the action for the Gazette and his pictures are available to purchase on this website. His pictures have been used by Editor Julie Currie to create this slideshow for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
