Cat dumped at police station

The animal welfare charity was alerted on Saturday (August 13) when the cat was discovered next at the doors to the Glasgow station.

The cat is now in the care of the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Lanarkshire, where he has been named London.

Inspector Elaine Lindsay said: “This poor cat was dumped by someone who was seen leaving him in the reception area of the station.

“The person arrived in a taxi, put him through the automatic doors, rang the bell and was seen getting into the taxi again. ”London is a long haired, male, black and tan adult cat. He’s a friendly boy and we aren’t sure why someone would want to abandon him like this.

“We will look after him until we find him the loving home that he deserves.”

Abandoning an animal is an offence under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006. Anyone found guilty of doing so can expect to be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life.
