Celebrating Mrs McQuillan

Pupils and staff are preparing to bid a fond farewell to a long-serving and much-loved classroom assistant.

Mrs McQuillan will say goodbye to the school community at Saint Joseph’s Primary School, in Stepps, in the coming weeks as she retires before the summer holidays.

The announcement has seen the school enter a period of celebration coupled with sadness.

A school spokesperson said: “Mrs McQuillan has worked in Saint Joseph’s Primary School for 23 years.

“She will be sadly missed by her colleagues and all of the boys and girls.

Meanwhile, the school welcomed Bishop Toal to their parish community on Tuesday, May 17.

Bishop Toal visited all of the classes during a tour of the school, however spent most time with the children in primary 7 who will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday, June 16.
