Charity family’s cartoons and cake day

The team — which has members from Busby and further afield and featured in The Extra throughout last year — will be taking part in the East Kilbride event this summer.

First up on this year’s fundraising calendar is Cakes with Scooby Doo, taking place on Saturday, April 26 at Busby Masonic Hall (10.30am start).

Entry for the event — which will include cake and candy, tombola, stalls and a chance for children to meet Scooby Doo himself — is £2 for adults, £1 for children.

Team member Sheila McDougall told The Extra: “We have been taking part in the East Kilbride Relay for Life for a number of years, and last year we raised over £5,000 — we hope to do even better this year!”
