Christmas and new year bus timetables

Bus operator First Glasgow has announced its timetables for the Christmas and New Year period.

From Thursday 24 December 2015 until Monday 4 January 2016 revised service levels will be in operation.

Normal Sunday timetables will operate on Sunday 27 December and Sunday 3 January as well as Saturday, December 26 (Boxing Day) and Saturday, January 2.

On Thursday 24 (Christmas Eve) and Thursday, December 31 (Hogmanay) Saturday timetables will operate and there will be additional journeys in the mornings on some services. In the evenings, services will operate as normal until around 9pm, then services will wind down with the last buses running at around 10pm.

No services will be operating on Christmas Day.

A Saturday service will then operate Monday 28 – Wednesday 30 December with some services operating a normal weekday timetable.

On Monday, January 4 a Saturday service will be in operation and some services will have extra morning journeys.

On New Year’s Day no services other than the Glasgow Shuttle will be operating. The Glasgow Shuttle service 500 will run a special service every 20 minutes between Glasgow city centre and Glasgow Airport.

Meanwhile, there will be no trains running on Christmas day or new year’s day.

For those wishing to travel to Aberdeen, trains will run hourly from Grand Central at 26 minutes past the hour on Christmas Eve.

Trains to Edinburgh’s Waverly station will leave at normally on Christmas Eve.

Likewise, trains to Dundee will run hourly at 26 minutes past the hour.
