Circle dancing comes to Lanark

As part of the South Lanarkshire '˜Young at Heart Festival' there will be a Circle dance workshop in Lanark Memorial Hall tomorrow (Tuesday March 15) from 1pm til 3pm.

Circle dancing is a collection of dances from across the world including the Balkans,Greece,Russia,France,Scotland too It is suitable for all generations but this workshop is aimed at the over 50s.

Each dance will be taught by Jenny Oswald a professional Circle Dance teacher.

There is no audience and everyone no matter what age or ability is encouraged to participate.

Circle dancing is one of the best forms of community dance, it enhances not only physical health but by holding hands in the circle gives a great sense of social cohesion.

Participants will be assured of a warm welcome as regular circle dancers from across Lanarkshire will swell the numbers.

These dancers participated in the community dance festival Go Dance 16 on earlier this month at The Theatre Royal Glasgow.

So do come along wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to have fun with this form of communal dance.
