Coalburn Gala Day 2014 Slideshow
Large crowds, basking in fantastic sunshine, marvelled at the immaculate turnout of Queen Niamh and her court, and colourful procession entries like the winning Wonka float of Caledonian Gardens and Friends.
“The gala day was absolutely fantastic; amazing,” said Coalburn Gala vice president Andrea Shankley.

Hide Ad“The kids were wonderful. Every one of them looked absolutely beautiful.
“We are always overwhelmed by the number of spectators who turn out. The community spirit in this village is second to none.”
The floats, wheeled and walking procession entries were led from Victoria Hall to the public park in Coalburn Road by Coalburn IOR Pipe Band.
Last year’s Coalburn Gala Queen Abbie Brown crowned her radiant successor Niamh, who had earlier been led onto the stage by Lord in Waiting Ben Miller.

Hide AdEntertainment after the crowning included dancing by Coalburn Jivers and DBA Dance With Susan.
There were also kids egg and spoon, skipping and running races, and local man John Neil won the tossing the Bellfield Stone Trophy.
Gala president Claire Robinson said: “A fantastic day was had by all.”
