Coalburn IOR Pipe Band win World Title

MEMBERS of Coalburn IOR Pipe Band are celebrating another super season which includes triumphs at World, British and Scottish level.

The band were declared the Grade 3A winners of the World Championship at Glasgow Green last month to add to the Scottish and British titles already won.

The band also finished runners-up at the European Championships and were named Champion of Champions, an event held in Cowal.

Pipe Major Colin Williams is delighted that all the hard work the band members have put in over the last few months has paid off in terms of titles achieved.

The World Championships were also a big success for the Vale of Clyde Pipe Band.

The band finished a very successful season at the Cowal Gathering coming in fourth place overall, and lifting the Champion of Champions Drum Corps title in the Grade 4B section.

Lanark & District Pipe Band also enjoyed taking part in the Championships.
