Community spirit at Condorrat’s St Helen’s Primary

Pupils across the school are involved in a variety of committees and recently the Fairtrade committee was probably the busiest. Activities during the school day continue with many after-school clubs on offer.

Richard Harris, who is an active schools coordinator, and students at Cumbernauld College work with St Helen’s to offer a wide range of after-school activities. Pupils have been able to try basketball, netball, football and a whole host of other sports during the school term as a result. Learning at St Helen’s Primary School has moved a step forward with pupils engaging in lessons which will not only educate them but teach them life lessons.It is hoped that the active learning lessons will provide pupils with skills that will last them a lifetime.

Pupils really believe in giving to good causes and they recently raised money for SCIAF by creating Easter bonnets. The prayer group is important at the school as it ensures that each child learns more about their faith while thinking circles encourage pupils to debate the issues.
