Condorrat Parish Church fair is a big success

Condorrat Parish Church held its Easter craft fair and coffee morning recently.

Among the goodies on offer, which ranged from handmade cards to confectionery and candles, were ‘little bags of happiness’ being sold by 17-year-old Cumbernauld High School pupil Lauren Gemmell and her mum Janice, who live in Condorrat.

Lauren is fundraising to be able to go on a school trip to the African nation of Ghana to help build a new school and has been selling these bags, filled with small items which represent various affectionate messages, towards this goal.

The trip will be from June 19 until July 3.

Margaret McCallum of the church fundraising committee, said: “The fair was very successful and a lot of fun, we raised £600 for church funds.

“It was nice to have Lauren and her mum Janice there, they were both lovely and we have invited them to take part in our church fair on May 17.”

This will be held from 12 noon until 2pm in the church hall.
