Count the horses in Lanark’s 875th Ride Out - Video

Principals from festivals across the Borders joined Lanark’s Lord Cornets Club on Saturday for an all-day Ride Out.

The Ride Out, to mark the 850th anniversary of the date the Burgh of Lanark is reputed to have received its Royal Charter, was wished Safe Ooot, Safe In, at Lanark Cross at 10am then piped up the High Street by Lanark and District Pipe Band.

The riders are due to return from Lee Castle via Nemphlar and Kirkfieldbank to Delves Park around 4pm this afternoon.

Around 140 riders were taking part.
