Couple say ‘I kazoo’ at Giffnock wedding

GIFFNOCK registry office was the venue for a wedding with a difference recently, as radio DJ Cat Harvey played the bride’s entrance music on a kazoo.

The Real Radio presenter had asked listeners to call in to suggest celebrations which she could play the instrument at - and bride and groom-to-be Yvonne Smith and Paul Gallacher asked Cat to come along to their upcoming nuptials.

She agreed, and played At Last by Etta James on the kazoo as Yvonne walked down the aisle.

Senior registrar Jim Clarke, who married the couple, said: “As far as we know this is the only wedding where a kazoo has been used as part of the ceremony.

“We were delighted to be part of Paul and Yvonne’s big day.”
