Credit union set for Carluke opening
IT is hoped that Carluke’s own credit union branch will be set up in St John’s Church Hall within the next two months.
Organisers hope that the long proposed union – a satellite office of Blantyre Credit Union – will help provide better access to money for people who can’t get a bank account.
Members of the Blantyre-based enterprise are currently trying to recruit 10 volunteers to run a service within Carluke which will give users the chance to choose between six different loans.
