Arrest made after Cumbernauld petrol station break-in

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after breaking in to the petrol station next to Tesco Extra in Cumbernauld town centre.

Police were called in around 12.30am on Monday, November 9 after a lone figure was seen breaking into the premises, having smashed a window to gain entry.

When officers arrived the man legged it, empty handed.

Thanks to the scrutiny of CCTV footage, a clearer picture emerged of a man who was then identified by officers.

They were able to trace the man the following day and confirmed that he has been arrested with housebreaking with intent to steal.
