Cars in Barrhead deliberately set on fire

Three cars were deliberately set alight in Barrhead in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, June 17).

Police are appealing for information about the series of wilful fire raisings, which took place between 1.45am and 2.05am.

The cars set on fire were

• A blue Dacia Sandero on Harelaw Avenue

• A blue Vauxhall Crossland on Patterton Drive

• A black Vauxhall Corsa on Balgray Crescent

Detective Constable Kieron Frost, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “We believe the incidents to be connected and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard any suspicious activity or persons to get in touch with police as soon as possible.

“If you were driving in the area and have a dash-cam, I would ask you to please check back and see if there is any footage that may be able to assist our investigation.”
