Condorrat bookmaker robbed

A betting shop in Condorrat was broken into on one of the biggest days of the UK racing calendar.

Police have confirmed that Coral Bookmakers in Main Road was targeted around 2.20am today (Wednesday)

The break-in coincided with the first full day of the Cheltenham Festival.

Officers stated that entry had been gained to the premises at 2.20am.

A safe containing a four-figure cash sum was taken from the shop.

Punters turned up in the morning to place some early bets for the races - only to be told that the business had been the victim of a break-in.

Police enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
