The incident was reported in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Wellington Lane has now been cordoned off.
Police say enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.05 am on Tuesday, 7 December, 2021, police received a report of the sexual assault of a woman in Wellington Lane, Glasgow. Enquiries are continuing.”
