With the school summer holidays fast approaching, officers are concerned that the normal ‘spike’ in vandalism, disturbances and street drinking will increase.

With that in mind, the Southwest Safer Initiative was born. This brings a number of partner agencies; Community safety Glasgow, Glasgow Life, GHA and the education departments together to provide opportunities for kids, in an attempt to divert them from anti-social and criminal type behaviour.

The new programme starts on June 26 and will run throughout the summer holidays until August 19, and will include various activities, some of which even have free transport provided.
