Man arrested after death in Springburn

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Springburn.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance within a garden at a block of flats in Elmvale Street around 3.50pm on Tuesday, 24 March.

A man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he died a short time later.

Formal identification is yet to take place and the death is being treated as suspicious pending a post-mortem. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Stuart Grainger, of the Major Investigation Team, said: “Enquiries are at an early stage and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the disturbance or who has any information which may be relevant to come forward.”
