Man charged after boy (3) is attacked by dog in Cumbernauld Village

A 53-year-old man has been charged after a three year old boy was attacked by an English bulldog in a garden in Cumbernauld Village yesterday (Wednesday)

Inspector Neil MacLeod of the community policing team at Cumbernauld police station said: “We can confirm that a man has been charged after an incident where a child was injured by a dog in Cumbernauld.

“We received a report around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 3 June of a three-year-old boy having been injured by an English bulldog within the back garden of his home at Kirkwall in the town.

“The boy was taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

“The English bulldog has been seized.

“A 53-year-old has been charged with failing to control a dog in a public place and is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Friday, 5th June.”
