Men facing abduction, robbery and assault charges

Two men have been remanded in custody in connection to an alleged violent abduction and robbery earlier this week.

Police in Forth Valley received a report of concern for a man who was seen entering a Vauxhall Zafira in West Boreland Road, Denny around 3.45pm on Monday.

The vehicle was then traced in Glasgow Road and a 38-year-old man was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Three men were arrested and charged with several offences in relation to the incident and appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Stephen Killen (29), from Clydebank, has been charged with abduction, assault to injury and robbery, assault, assault to injury, a charge under the Communications Act 2003, Section 127 1(A) relating to electronic messages which are grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character and one under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 S38(1) for threatening and abusive behaviour.

Donald McAvoy (27), from Glasgow, was charged with abduction, assault to injury and assault to injury and robbery.

Both men made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody until their next appearance, due on April 12 or 13.

John Kennedy (27), from Kirkintilloch, is also facing charges of abduction and assault to injury and robbery. He was released on bail with his next appearance to be confirmed.
